Gifts for Sponsor Children

I am sure that when you visit your child you would love to bless them with a gift. Here are some ideas and tips. It’s best to buy gifts beforehand, as it will not be possible to purchase any in Ghana. Here are some suggestions...

Practical gifts
In Ghana, basic needs are pressing, and luxury toys are often meaningless. Some gifts suggestions include:

  • Clothes and shoes
  • Pens, pencils, crayons and paper
  • Books
  • Towels or flat bed sheets
  • Simple kitchen items such as dishcloths or tablecloths
  • Soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Wind up torch or radio
  • Football
  • Hair ribbons and clips

While you are there please do not make any promises of other gifts. Make a mental note of anything else you would like to do, but do not tell the children. We have many children still waiting for spoken promises to be fulfilled, each made with the good intentions.
